The story

The inspiration.

Dysmorphia collection is created as a result of founder's (Dysmo) inspiration after learning more about spectrum of dysmorphic body image disorders. One part of it was learning of so called "Snapchat Dysmorphia", disorder which got it's name after plastic surgeon noticed that more and more, people who come to their office to ask for changes in their looks, wanted to change to look more like their "filtered" versions from Snapchat.

Dysmo thought to herself: all of us in NFT space represent ourselves through different PFPs & traits and it became quite normal to us - being an "animal" or "creature". Isn't that also like - becoming someone else?

She became interested in creating a collection of people who are becoming dysmorphic in different ways. Each of the characters would be human in nature, but some of them were to become more of an animal, more of a certain human organ, more of a fruit, more of a chemical reaction etc. She then combined them with regular NFT traits - since that is something which we are all pretty used to in this space.

Houses & Families One of the main highlights of the story is that each of the characters belongs to a House and a Family. Each House represents a direction of changes that will happen to a human, and Family directs it more specifically (explained more in NFTnomics). All the names for Houses and Families come from esperanto, the artificial language which we found logical to use in this case when we operate with artificial intelligence to create the images in first place.

As mentioned earlier, the images are made with AI. Dysmo is proud and proficient user of Midjourney AI software and is constantly exploring all the new upgrades and possibilities it offers.
