Why changes?
Reasoning to make a change.
With the current market state we believe it's only logical and responsible to response to feedback we're getting from the mint & markets numbers. It made us reconsider our initial plan and turn our heads more to our "Plan B" and optimise the distribution of NFTs. In the forefront, and we like to say that often, is the Thesis study, and Dysmorphia should be here to support it, not to arrest it's development. Thus, we want to make Dysmo's and their existence as supportive as possible (they must exist as a part of the research) and not overflow the community and markets with surplus of them.
More detailing: The original plan was to have 4 different NFT drops, analyse each of them as a catalyst event of sort and compare them accordingly for the study. It has shown that the market for Dysmorphia NFTs may not have been as large as initially anticipated which led to current surplus of NFTs from the first mint itself. Thinking that the whole situation might recover so much to be able to sell 4 drops successfully might be unrealistic, so we got down to work out the final plan for the change of scenario (Plan B).
As explained, Dysmo NFTs serve as an object of the study, and we feel the obligation to make that object of the study as valid as possible in the eyes of NFT space. That surely means listening to the feedback and responding to it, and trying to come out with the best possible solution to keep the story going as successful as possible. In the end - for the study it is more important to have a living project of 2 drops, then to stubbornly go with the initial plan and have a "dead" project with 4 drops. Technical: The removal of families and upgrading current holders of gold branch NFTs to become part of the blue branch from other families will increase rarity and exclusivity of the collection, as will the general cut in supply do. The addition of a watermark to represent the main purpose of supporting a Thesis study will add to collection recognition and bring value by highlighting its academic significance, with possible higher appeal to collectors who are interested in supporting research in the field. Finally, by upgrading all NFTs, since Midjourney had some amazing updates since the version 3 that we used, the collection will be even more visually appealing and interesting.
Overall, the changes made to the Dysmorphia NFT collection are aimed at creating a more exclusive and valuable collection while preserving its unique traits and metadata. By reducing the total supply, making Dysmo NFTs rarer, and highlighting its academic significance, it's aimed to create it more desirable and valuable to collectors
